desire and addiction

Recently I watched a chanelling from a talk Jesus and Mary made in Texas where Mary's guide, Rachael, highlighted the importance of feeling our desires as emotions. When it comes to processing our addictions is this the same process given that our addictions are generally what we desire? and is it then an effective way for us to process our addictions?

In the first assistant group in 2014 Jesus and Mary covered topics on addictions and how to deconstruct and process through them and there are some videos that will answer your questions. Here are the playlists just head to the topics on addictions:
