God's Nature

Post by Mary » Tue Nov 03, 2015 9:14 pm

In this thread you can list movies that:

- demonstrate an aspect of God's Nature and God's Qualities
- highlight a person coming to learn about God's Nature
- show resistance to learning about God

These are some suggestions of the types of movies to list in this thread but please list any movie that highlighted something about God's Nature for you.

"A movie that sticks out in my mind as a human who represents a lot of God's loving qualities is the protagonist in the movie 'Powder'.

I feel that his character inspires humanity to be better and more loving. It also triggers the feeling of being alone, unwanted, unpopular by being yourself."

Title: Les Misérables (2012)

"There are errors in the film about God's nature but the characters of Valjean and Javert present two opposing "versions" of God. Valjean is shown a compassionate, loving, merciful and forgiving God who inspires him to live a more loving life. He is transformed from a hard, bitter criminal to a sensitive, softer man who is capable of love and compassion. This is contrasted with Javert's belief in a harsh, punishing, judgmental God who demands justice and punishment."
