Here they show how mother (and in this case father as well) neglect their children for the sake of their own addiction to emotional escape (anger, fear and grief) and use drug addiction as a tool to do that. Movie is also enriched with other examples of loss of the parents, tough start in life, shattered childhood, sexual abuse, victim like mind set, desire for delusion, mother's denial of any responsibility and any harm done to her children, passive father, children's desire to deny the lack of love from their parents and much more..."
