The genius of ACTUALLY honoring freewill

I am finding that whenever I ACTUALLY honor the freewill choices of others, no matter what they are, it UNENTANGLES me from the burden that comes with developing Expectation.
It also demonstrates great faith that God's laws are evaluating everyone's actions, SO I DON'T HAVE TO.
It has a way of releasing me from the consternation (burden) of judging someone (always an inaccurate, fruitless enterprise).
These are no small benefits to me. So I am finding this practice (and it does take practice) of TRULY honoring the freewill of others not only is Loving to them, but more to the point (?) its very Loving to myself. I think this is genius on the part of God.

ACTUALLY honoring freewill

It takes practice ! A discipline unto itself. By doing this one simple thing, I am increasingly finding:
1: It reinforces my faith that God's laws are already at
work monitoring and correcting others unloving
errors, SO I DON'T HAVE TO.
2: It UNENTANGLES and UNBURDENS me from the
drama and efforts involved in attempting the always
inaccurate and unloving judgement of others.
3: It LIBERATES me from many of the addictions and
unloving expectations I might otherwise develope
of others.

I noticed this the other day. Son did not want to fetch the laundry when I asked him to and I did not get angry or try to persuade him to do it. I let him feel free to do as he wanted. And it felt liberating to honor his free will. It is one of the few rare occasions that this has happened. Looking forward to experience more of this :D

Hi Mike

I feel you have a different perception of free will than I do in the context of God's Laws.

You said:

I cannot agree with your statement here. I guess it depends on the situation but as an example, if I took up this understanding of free will, I'd just sit back and let people do all kinds of unloving stuff on the forum to one another whilst in the back of my mind thinking "it's fine, God will correct them."

As admin, if I followed this methodology, the forum would have been ruined by now. I'd have allowed the attack, anger, condescension etc without taking any disciplinary action against people and the forum all of a sudden would basically become useless in aiding spiritual progression for the sincere people here whilst contributing to an unsafe and hostile environment.

Further to this, if somebody was open to it's reception and I had the soul based knowledge, I'd love to offer them assistance in uprooting an error that they have rather than letting them carry on in their error as I feel this would be unloving of me. This is kind of what I am doing now in my response to you - the only difference is that I am not taking into account if your open to receiving my comments as there are others on the forum who may read your post and it may mislead them if they took on your beliefs and I did not offer my own feelings on the matter when I feel differently. At least now, people reading can feel and self-reflect on our differing opinions.

Again I do not necessarily agree with this point either. A lot depends on the situation. For example, if I felt somebody was using their free will in what I strongly felt was an unloving manner towards me, I would definitely say something to them which would be in opposition to their feelings of what is acceptable behaviour - it is not a judgement of them, but simply standing up to the truth of what is happening and challenging them.

Another example is the terms of use document for this site. I am giving people who register an opportunity to express themselves freely however if they use their free will in a way that I feel is unloving, I will take the necessary disciplinary action against them by either giving them an amber strike or a red strike (and therefore muting them) which is there to protect all users of the forum. A few people who I have issued a red strike to in the past have accused me of judging them when actually what I was doing was acting in good faith regarding my current understanding and knowledge of God's Laws and removing their influence from the forum and it is them in error thinking their behaviour was acceptable. Them throwing judgment at me is quite arrogant and is done so as a way of helping them avoid the reason why they were muted and not wanting to self-reflect to determine the accuracy of the feedback I gave them. If I was giving out strikes with a feeling of wanting to punish them, I would then be out of harmony.

I cannot agree with this point. Reason being, these addictions and unloving expectations are already in us due to the injuries that were caused predominantly in our childhood and our use of will to avoid our fear and grief since then. Of course we can develop further addictions and expectations throughout our life as we try to avoid our own pain further but I feel the only way you can be liberated from addictions is to process through them emotionally by seeing the SIN of our behaviour rather than avoiding engagement with others under the guise of honouring free will. I feel doing this is us not being honest with ourselves and is us in facade actually.

***As a note, I have felt it appropriate to merge this thread of yours with the other free will based thread you created in the "Free Will" forum category as they are extremely similar and thought it'd be best to keep the conversation under one thread rather than over two.

Cheers

Nicky

Good call. I must agree with your assement. I oversimplified. You are spot on with regards to speaking up about unloving things people do, and , in fact, I practice this speaking up myself more and more.
I suppose I was expressing the way honoring freewill, in situations where the other entity (person, or organization) is not open to input. In these situations, realizing God's laws are in effect can help keep me from becoming entangled in in a no-win situation.
It is unloving to myself to pursue a pointless dialog box with someone who is not open to receiving Truth, and when I honor their freewill choice not to it helps me.
I appreciate your insights. Sometimes I do oversimplify...Mike

Also the part about addictions. You are right there as well. Thank you Nicky for your pointers. Your detailed assements have taken me by surprise ! I had no expectation of anyone doing this for me. This is very Loving work you are doing, and I am grateful to you. Mike
