Weeds and bugs

Farming season is starting here in Sweden (yes, long winter...) and I thought about weeds, I think AJ has mentioned something about this in the video about eco systems, that living systems eat dead systems. But why is it that one or a few kinds of plants can dominate so much, they seem to have an easier time spreading and multiplying themselves. Is this really sustainable in nature?
Or are weeds a reflection of our emotional state? Like... "why do I always get invaded" or "why does no one respect my space" kind of thing... what do you guys think? Have you had any experience?
I am thinking about the humungos (spelling?) amount of pesticides that are used to keep weeds and bugs from crops in the fields, but also just.. gardening as a hobby.
I had bugs on a few of my plants a week or so ago, they just multiplied so in the end I sprayed them... not so nice and probably avoiding my law of attraction... bugs were sad (or were they?) but plants are now happy (I think...)
Or did I spray because my LOA changed?
My mother-in-law has really been BUGging me by the way. So it might be that I felt that "someone is trying to destroy my beautiful creation here" kind of...
